The Jewish Community Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington is thrilled to announce $80,000 in grants from the Fund for Women and Girls. Our grantee partners play a crucial role in ensuring women and girls in Israel have equality, representation and power in their communities.
Launched in 2023, the Fund for Women and Girls is designed to promote social change, and to help shape an equitable world in which all women and girls can thrive. The Fund supports efforts to address immediate obstacles and systemic challenges holding women and girls back from reaching their full potential, domestically and in Israel. Including this third round of grantmaking the Fund has dispersed $300,000.
Through their programs and advocacy work, the Fund for Women and Girls’ partners are responding to the ongoing crisis in Israel, building awareness around conflict-related sexual violence, defending women’s rights, and developing the next generation of women leading communities at the local, regional, and national level. The goal of the Fund for Women and Girls is to ensure that our partners have the resources and tools to shape their lives and communities.
“It is imperative that women of all backgrounds have a seat at the decision-making table and are empowered to lead, in order for Israel to meet its goal of 50% representation by 2030. Both grassroots organizations like Bonot Alternativa, who are out in communities every day encouraging women to register to vote and run for office, and grasstops organizations like WePower who drive policy change on the Knesset, and hold the highest levels of leadership accountable to their commitments are vital to the future of all women and girls in Israel,” said Jannah Yutkovitz, Senior Director of Philanthropic Impact at the Jewish Community Foundation.
